Mainly applies to the case when a constant failure rate is assumed. Of the various categories of reliability clauses in the specifications for components, the present guide is currently directed at those applying to the finished product and relating to the estimation of failure rates from tests. There are two basic approaches which can be followed. Both approaches are applicable to the testing of components.
