Relates to the surface roughness of products manufactured of materials and by methods that would normally yield surface roughness parameters within certain ranges of values. Specifies arithmetrical mean deviation of the profile Ra, heigth of the profile irregularities in ten points Rz, maximum height of the profile Ry, mean spacing of profile irregularities Sm, mean spacing of local peaks of the profile S and profile bearing length ratio tp. Gives furthermore the terms to be used for lay and type of surface.
