The method does not apply to whole unprocessed products, to seed products, or to partially milled products, which retain the formof the original material. The method first gives relevant definitions, then it specifies general precautions. It describes the apparatus, required, showing suitable examples in 9 figures. Further it describes location of sampling, taking of increments, forming of the bulk sample and laboratory samples. It specifies the size of samples, packaging, labelling and dispatch of samples. An annex shows a sampling scheme for consigments of more than 100 units.
