Describes clear-text encoding of the Computer Graphics Metafile. A clear-text encoding is determined for each of the items specified in ISO 8632/1, as well as allowed abbreviations and the overall format of the metafile and the means by which comments may be interspersed in the metafile. This CGM encoding allows metafiles to be generated and maintained in a form being suitable to type, edit and read. References: ISO 646 and 2022.
