Consists of two codes of symbolization for types of construction and mounting arrangements of rotating machinery. Code I concerns to a reduced number of possibilities for machines with endshield bearings and only one shaft extension. Code II relates to all rotating electrical machinery. It defines symbol for types of construction and mounting arrangements of machines for general use well as for special applications. An Appendix at the end of each codes gives the relation between the symbols of the two codes.
