The infrared spectroscopy method specifies in this standard is used for the determination of the mineral oil content of used oils. For this purpose the sample diluted with a solvent is filled in a sealed liquid cuvette according to DIN 51461 and then the extinction will be measured. The mineral oil content will be calculated as mass concentration in %.
