Specifies the requirements for determination of the magnetic characteristics under direct current conditions. Describes the "ring method" used to obtain the normal magnetization curve and the hysteresis loop for magnetic field strengths of less than 5 kA/m. Deals also with the methods used to obtain the alternating current magnetization curve and the specific total loss, at power frequencies, for magnetic field strengths of less than 5 kA/m for measurement on laminated material.
