Description of a general method for determining the resistanc to abrasive wear of plastics under the action of abrasive wheels. The test specimen which has the form of a disk, is placed on a motor driven rotating disc. Two abrasive wheels are applied to the test specimen with a specified load. The wear obtained after rotation of the test specimen through a specified number of revolutions is assessed by an appropriate procedure (mass loss, volume loss, change in optical properties).
