Covers components for use with personal flotation devices. Compliance with these requirements does not indicate that the product is acceptable for use as a component of an end product without further investigation. The requirements may be applied to other components if found to be appropriate. These components are intended for use in personal flotation devices which comply with the requirements of Underwriters Laboratories Inc., and the United States Coast Guard Subparts of Chapter I, Title 46, Code of Federal Regulations. This is the second public review for this standard. It was originally listed in the March 12, 1999 issue of Standards Action. It is being resubmitted due to substantive changes to the text.
