The document specifies a method for the determination of the softening point of pure bitumen, modified bitumen and bitumen mastics, in the range 30 °C to 200 °C using distilled or deionized water for softening points of 30 °C to 80 °C or glycerol for softening points of 80 °C to 150 °C or silicone oil for softening points of 150 °C to 200 °C.
