Describes the requirements and test procedures for coatings of type A (only provides protection against pollution) and type B (provides protection against pollution and insulation). The principles are applicable to functional and basic insulation. Deals with design requirements (principles, voltage stresses, performance), test specimens, and tests (suitability, cleaning, coating and soldering, adhesion of coating, visual examination, climatic conditions, electromigration, additional tests). Annexes A and B contain test sequences for type A and B coating.
