Establishes the interface between the local exchange lines and trunks of the public switched network and customer installation in terms of their interaction and electrical characteristics. Covers two methods of dc signaling: loop-start signaling, which is typically used for residence and business Central Office (CO) lines; and ground-start signaling, which is typically used for two-way seizure PBX-CO trunks.
