Concerns single yarn, folded (plied) yarns and cabled yarns, it does not apply to rovings. The specified method provides a measurement for each successive twist step. The number of turns necessary for the complete untwisting of 500 mm of yarn is counted by means of a twist tester. The mean of a specified number of measurements shall be calculated and expressed in turns per metre.
