This standard sets out simplified methods of calculation for measuring noise pollution. The results of which satisfy the requirements for urban planning. In order that the amount of noise pollution can be calculated, information is given on how to replace extensive sources of noise - e.g. traffic routes, industrial areas - by concentrated sources and how to calculate the noise level emanating from linear and areal sources. Examples of use have been included in order to facilitate the application of this standard in practice.
