Reference radiations in this energy range are provided because of the 6 MeV photons fields produced by many nuclear power stations and by other nuclear reactor systems. Air kerma shall be used as the dosimetric quantity. The radiation shall be produced by nuclear reactions (de-excitation of 0-16 or C-12, thermal neutron capture, decay of N-16).
