Relates to assemblies operating in the transverse electromagnetic mode (TEM). Establishes uniform requirements for testing the electrical, mechanical and climatic properties of cable assemblies composed of cables and connectors. Gives definitions and details the design and manufacturing requirements. Deals with workmanship, marking, packaging and artificial ageing. Two separate sections cover test methods and test schedules, respectively. The measuring methods for reflection factor and propagation time are dealt with in the annex specifying also a recommended method for temperature stabilization.
