This European Standard defines minimum requirements for the design and performance of bariatric stretchers used in road ambulances for handling and carrying bariatric patients in such a way that supplementary injuries due to handling are reduced to a minimum. This European Standard aims to ensure patient safety and minimize the physical effort required by staff operating the equipment.
