Specifies the characteristics of some types of magnifiers of magnification up to X3 (type A), up to X10 (type B), up to X15 (type C) und up to X6 (type D). Gives recommendations for their selection. Is not concerned with watch-makers' loupes and spectacles, single-element, spherical- or cylindrical-lens magnifiers, liquidfilled plastics lens sacs, and magnifiers intended for the examination of internal surfaces.
