This Recommendation contains definitions and general measuring methods applying to all classes of photosensitive devices, including vacuum phototubes, gas-filled phototubes, photoconductive cells, photovoltaic cells and photomultipliers. Camera tubes are not included in this Recommendation. A typical relative spectral-sensitivity characteristic of a photosensitive device is shown in a figure, as is an example of light-proof enclosure with fixed photosensitive device and movable light source too.
