This standard describes a method for checking the constanty of decisive characteristic datas for radiographs which permit conclusions to be drawn regarding the constanty of the imaging system when employing anautomatic exposure system or free setting. The characteristic datas used are the optical density, the contrast, the useful radiation field and the dose at the radiation-entrance side of a test device. Permissible deviations are indicated. Details of a test device to be used preferentially are described. Other test devices are permissible provided they meet the requirements demanded in the standard. Determination of the permissible deviations for such other test devices are also specified.
