Contains the terminology and specifies the methods of measuring the d.c. magnetic properties of solid steels. Describes the ring method used to obtain the normal magnetization curve and the hysteresis loop. Describes also the permeameter method for determining the normal magnetization curve and the hysteresis loop. The four permeameters described in this standard are used in the magnetic strength ranges of 2 kA to 400 kA.
