Defines, in an abstract way, the externally visible service of the OSI Session Layer in terms of the primitve actions and events, the corresponding parameter data of the latter as well as the relationship between and the valid sequence of the them. The specified service is identical with that of the OSI session protocol and can be used by the OSI presentation protocol. Applies in conjunction with the ISO standards 7498, 7498/Add. 3, 8072, 8327 and ISO/TR 8509.
