Also applies in general to protective conductors but chapter 54 contains further requirements for those conductors. Considers types of wiring systems, selection and erection in relation to external influences, current-carrying capacities, cross-sectional areas of conductors, voltage drop in consumers' installations, electrical connection, selection and erection to minimize the spread of fire, proximity to other services, selection and erection in relation to maintainability, including cleaning.
