Applicable to all kinds of ceramic, glass, and glass-ceramic materials to be used for electrical insulation purposes. Based on composition and properties, a classification is established, which covers eight groups of ceramic materials (designated "C") and six groups of glasses (designated "G"). Glass-ceramic materials will be designated "GC".
