Applies to insulated terminal assemblies for round copper conductors with a cross-section greater than 0.2 square millimetres and up to 300 square millimetres for voltages up to 1000 V a.c. (up to 1000 Hz) or 1500 V d.c. It deals with electrical and mechanical characteristics and behaviour with respect to overload and short-circuit (temperature rise), dielectric properties (clearances and creepage distances), and tests including ageing. Excluded are connecting devices which require special manipulation of conductors before being clamped or which provide penetrating of insulating material.
