Specifies methods for impulse voltage tests in high voltage tests. The insulation is either subjected to a voltage withstand test at a specified rated withstand voltage or, if the insulation is self-restoring, tested to determine the 50 per cent or the assured disruptive-discharge voltage, either by direct measurement or a statistical procedure.
