Replaces in conjunction with IEC Publication 885-2 and the series of IEC Publication 811 the former IEC Publication 540. Describes electrical test methods as a guide to be followed for testing wires, cords and cables in case the relevant cable standard does not prescribe a different electrical test method. Gives electrical tests, which are applicable only to unsheathed wires, cords and cables and to cores taken from complete sheathed cords and cables.
