Establishes standard irradiation exposure conditions and recommends test procedures for comparing the relative resistance of electric insulating materials to the effects ionizing irradiation. To determine the radiation resistance of a material, the relationship between the absorbed dose and changes in its properties is examined. The tests may be applied to inorganic and organic insulating materials, but are especially pertinent to organic polymers.
