Covers the equipment and procedures for carrying out a cupping test using the modified Erichsen test, on sheet and strip metal of thickness 0,2-3 mm, and of minimum width 30 mm. Details are given of four sets of tools, each consisting of a penetrator (a spherically shaped punch), a die and a blank-holder, and suitable for testing sheet and strip metal of various widths and thickness. The lubricant and reporting method are specified.
