Covers constructional and marking requirements and test methods for enclosures for electrical apparatus to be used in atmospheres where flammable dust (metallic or non-metallic) may form a fire or explosion hazard. The more severe test method for metallic dusts is based on SABS 1222 as is the test method for hose-proof enclosures, which has been incorporated in case cleaning methods in such flammable atmospheres are by hosing.
