Specifies requirements for enclosures for electrical equipment classified in accordance with the degree of protection that the enclosure provides to the enclosed equipment against contact by external bodies or ingress of foreign solids or liquids, and to persons against access to the hazardous parts inside the enclosure. Covers enclosures to house equipment of rated voltage not exceeding 72,5 kV, enclosures supplied with, or as part of, electrical equipment, and empty enclosures.
