Defines category codes for all consumer products which are capable of supplying a digital signal to consumer digital audio recorders, introduces an indication for "pre-recorded software" and "home-recorder software" with their interpretations, changes the phrasing of the actual indication of control bit 2 from "copy prohibited/permitted" to "software which is copyright protected/not copyright protected". Especially amends subclauses 4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2, and annexes A, C, adds new annexes D, E, F, G, H, J, K, and L.
