Is a revision of the IRE standard on piezoelectric crystals also known as IEEE standard 177. Gives an introductory review of the equivalent electric circuit of a piezoelectric vibrator and its parameters, followed by a discussion of the determination of these parameters by the transmission method. Presents lists of symbols used for the equivalent electric circuit and for the transmission network. In addition, contains tables presenting, inter alia, solutions for the various characteristic frequencies, approximate relations between the characteristic frequencies and the series resonance frequency of a piezoelectric vibrator, and the relationship between measured and fundamental values.
