AS a DTE counterpart of the X.25 LAPB DCE description and viewed by the DTE, describes the CCITT Recommendation X.25 Level 2 LAPB interface operation. Application of X.25 LAPB procedures at Data Link Level directly between two DTEs without intervening public data network. Defines use of the HDLC standards ISO 3309, 3435, 7478 and 7809. Specifies the DTE structure, elements and operation procedures used by the X.25 Level 2 LAPB protocol according to the CCITT Recommendation X.25. The procedure applies to data interchange between DTE and DCE or two DTEs, and the definition concerns synchronous, duplex links.
